What is a grant?

A grant is a financial award given by a federal, provincial or municipal government agency or program to a business, non-profit organization, or charitable organization, to fund some type of beneficial project or venture.

What type of grants are available?

Most of the grants available for businesses can be divided into three categories: business expansion, hiring and training, and research and development. There are also a number of grants available for non-profit and charitable organizations to develop projects which will benefit the community at large.

Are there grants available for charitable organizations?

Yes, there are several federal and provincial grant programs available for charitable organizations to fund specific programs and activities.

Do I have to pay it back?

No, government grants do not have to be repaid. There are several government programs which offer loans for small businesses, which do have to be repaid.

How much grant funding could I receive?

The amount of funding you may receive depends on a number of factors, such as the amount of general funding available for the program, the scale of the project or activities you are proposing, the size of your business or organization, amongst other factors. The amount of funding available can range from several thousands of dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars, depending on the factors mentioned above.

When are grants available?

How long will I have to wait until I found out I’m approved?

There is no specific timeline when it comes to the approval process. Some grant programs will provide a response within a few days, while others may take several months. Generally speaking, the larger the program and money involved, the longer the approval process.

What is the success rate?

The approval process takes into account a number of different factors, including the quality of your application, and whether or not you specifically address the program’s objectives and funding criteria. Even if the program meets all of the objectives and criteria, there are no guarantees. In some cases, the number of quality applications received may exceed the amount of funding available. It’s also important to apply to the program that makes sense for your company or organization. How soon will I receive the grant?

The turn-around time for most grant funding depends on the program. Generally speaking, you should receive your grant funding within six to eight weeks after being approved, although larger grants (for business expansion or research and development) may take upwards of six months. For some applications, the grant committee will release funding on a milestone basis.

What is the cost for a preliminary meeting with an Aspire Solutions account manager?

Our initial discussion or visit is FREE, as we will get to assess your business needs and create a proposal to recommend which services would be most suitable to improve your business functions.

Why does my business need help managing my workforce?

How long will it take to prepare my tax return?

Upon completion of your tax return papers, an account representative will contact you within one business day to receive your approval prior to submission.

When can I start my taxes?

Since everything can be done online you can file them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Will I be able to print my tax return?

Upon completion of the tax submission, a pdf copy will be sent over for your own reference. This can be printed directly at home for your convenience.

What payments methods are accepted?

We accept most methods of payment which include:

  • Credit cards including Master Card & Visa
  • Interac e-transfer
  • Cash or cheque

Do I need to download any software?

We don’t not require you to download any software. This is why so many of our valued clients choose to go with Aspire due to the convenience of it all being done completely online.

Can I use your service if it is my first tax return?

Yes, you can use our service whether it’s your first time or if you have filed elsewhere in the past.

In what regions is this service available in?

Due to the tax filing service being offered online, we can cater to individuals across Canada.

Why do you not do taxes the traditional way if you have an office location?

Our goal is to offer our customers a completely effortless and seamless tax return service, right from the comfort of your own home. However, if the client would prefer to visit us during our business hours, they are most welcome to do so!

If it is all done online do you outsource our tax returns?

Aspire Business Solutions Inc. is a 100% Canadian Owned and Operated Company. We do not outsource any of our tax return services to a third party. All tax returns are calculated and filed by our team of professional accountants.
